About Me
After working in the public sector for a decade, it felt like I wasn’t getting the job satisfaction that I had hoped for and needed a new challenge.
I love learning, so alongside my work I undertook an Open University degree in Psychology, which I found fascinating! This was when I discovered something called Phenomonology. Listening to a therapist describe what it was like to truly listen to someone and their experience was so powerful – it left me wanting to know more!
Growing up, I was around people who had difficult times with their mental health, so I had an insight into the struggles that can present. With the discovery of Phenomonlogy and being aware of the distress that can impact an individual’s life, I knew training to become a counsellor was the path I wanted to pursue.
4 years of counselling training was by far the hardest but most rewarding learning I have completed, which is why I continue to seek to deepen my knowledge and understanding to this day and have completed two Level 5 Diplomas and countless CPD training events.
The ability for individuals to makes changes, to heal, to keep going when faced with adversity, never ceases to amaze me. I feel truly honoured and humbled to be a part of people’s lives during this time of change.
